Growing up with a mother who is a real estate agent and a father who is a contractor, real estate is second nature to J.R. From being at open houses and active jobsites, he knew real estate was his passion from an early age. As a Charlotte-native, J.R. held his broker’s license in North Carolina where he pursued real estate to finance his education. His first dabble into real estate investing was the first house he ever purchased, a foreclosure that needed a complete renovation. While his first project took nearly twice as long and twice as much capital as originally estimated, he accomplished his goal. J.R. was able to secure a sale that generated enough profit to pay for graduate school.
J.R. graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Development in 2021. Upon graduating and bolstering his confidence with his first project completed, he purchased his second investment property, another fix-n-flip. Using his experience from his first investment and his fresh degree, this project went much smoother. Nevertheless, J.R. craved new scenery, a new city to explore and call home.
A recent Denver transplant, J.R. is continuing to pursue his passion for real estate and share his knowledge and experience with as many people as he can in a new market.
Outside of real estate, J.R. enjoys cooking, traveling, antiquing, and being an amateur food critic. Ask him about how to get started in real estate investing and he’ll share his knowledge and experience while suggesting some of the best restaurants in Denver!
